In this five-day course, you will learn how to federate business-critical data from various sources, including Essbase, by defining the three layers of an Oracle BI repository and presenting the results in meaningful formats to the decision makers.
Based on a case study with step-by-step instructions, you will use the Oracle BI Administration Tool to reverse-engineer physical schemas, define logical business models and provide an end-user friendly presentation layer.
You'll become familiar with building physical and logical joins, defining simple and calculation measures, modelling logical dimension hierarchies and multiple logical table sources as well as setting up aggregate tables, partitions, and time series.
To validate these tasks, you'll create several analyses and review the query logs to gain a deeper understanding of the Oracle BI Server. After learning how to set up the BI Server, students will focus on analysing the data and build more and more complex dashboards.
The course also covers topics for Repository Management like Security, Caching, User Tracking, Localisation and Multi-User Development. Exercises are based on Essbase as one of the data sources, in addition to relational data sources. This course is for OBIEE version 11g.
