A Week is a Long Time in Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting!

Malcolm Brock
Managing Director

What a month! Just 4 weeks since the UK ‘mini budget’ and every one of them has seen unprecedented turmoil in UK Government policy and financial markets.  Are you managing to keep up?

Harold Wilson first made this now very famous quote ‘A week is a long time in politics.’ at a lobby briefing for journalists at the time of the sterling crisis in 1964.  I think we could claim we have had four of them in a row!

Whatever your political views one thing is clear, many organisations are struggling to keep up with this rate of change when it come to their planning, budgeting and forecasting.  As markets react and policies change on a daily basis how do you reflect these changes quickly and accurately in your financial plans?

One thing is certain, manual processes and a mass of spreadsheets are not going to be up to the job. Traditionally this is all medium sized and small companies could have expected to be able to use as enterprise solutions were beyond their means, both financially and technically. Today that is not the case with Cloud solutions.

I cannot see significant stability of the horizon so maybe now is the time to take a look at how your organisation could get on the front foot with its planning, budgeting and forecasting. Our Seven best Practices of Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting white paper will give you an idea of what you can achieve with the right solution. You can download a copy HERE.

Until next time.
