Essbase, it’s integration with the ADW ecosystem, is it the best of both worlds?
Wednesday, June 18 @ 03:50 pm
Speaker: Roger Cressey
As we venture through the newer features of Essbase, we begin to see that it is well on its way to becoming simply another tool in the autonomous data warehouse workshop! It still retains it’s age-old capabilities and individuality, but benefits from the power of the cloud database world with federated partitions now providing completely new solution capabilities for our customers.
For the first time I am implementing this at The Association of Christian Schools International and have learned a lot as I begin to use this for a real implementation and not just demos!
The ability to update Essbase directly through a relational fact table and then supplement the data with enhancements available as SmartView drill through targets expands the scope of Essbase’s reach significantly.
We also now have easy to use tools for working with data sets we wish to ingest…including a little known ADW add in for SmartView. I plan to walk through a number of these features and demonstrate them for the audience. I believe it will inspire existing Essbase users, and encourage a fresh approach to solving problems for our customers that we previously could not provide as simply!
Please make contact with our team if you have questions or need help with your Oracle or Hyperion solutions. They are always happy to help and share their knowledge.
Good luck to you all and have a great conference.
Until next time.
Malcolm
