The Essential Guide to Oracle Cloud EPM AI Features

Lydia Maksoud

If you’ve been keeping up with the latest Oracle Cloud EPM patch notes, you’ll notice Oracle are introducing more and more AI features into EPM, across all business processes.  While this is exciting to see, it can be hard to stay on top of the EPM AI features and know which require configuration, as well as what the business benefits are. Hopefully this blog will help!

Firstly, let’s go over the three types of EPM AI currently available in Oracle Cloud EPM:

  1. Predictive – uses historical data to identify trends and predict into the future
  2. GenAI – uses Generative AI to create new content, such as text, images or code
  3. AI Agent – performs system tasks for the user, based on commands or system information

Now we can review the EPM AI features which are available in Oracle Cloud EPM (as of November 2025), along with the required setup steps and business benefits:

EPM AI Feature Description / Business Benefit Business Processes AI Type Setup Required
IPM Insights (Predictive) Identify trends and minimise hidden biases, which may otherwise have gone unnoticed in large data sets

Enable discussion around specific data insights

Planning & Freeform Predictive Configuration of prediction insights jobs – Hybrid must be enabled
IPM Insights (GenAI) Summarise each insight into easy-to-understand sentences

Summarise multiple insights into a paragraph for reporting, for a selected POV

Planning, Freeform, FCC, PCM & Tax GenAI Configuration of insights jobs –Hybrid must be enabled

GenAI must be enabled in application settings

EPM AI

Auto Predict Automatically predict future performance based on historical data, providing a forecast basis or sense check for manual forecasts Planning & Freeform Predictive Configuration of auto predict jobs – Hybrid must be enabled
Advanced Predictions Expand power of the auto-prediction engine to improve further on forecast accuracy Planning & Freeform Predictive Configuration of advanced prediction jobs – Hybrid must be enabled

Advanced predictions must be enabled in application settings

EPM AI

Bring Your Own ML Ability to utilise complex predictive models and machine learning to enhance predictions Planning & Freeform Predictive Data scientists to build and train the ML model, save as PMML and import into EPM
Predictive Planning Run ad hoc predictions on a data form, to detect historic patterns and predict forward Planning & Freeform Predictive Activated using action menu on a valid data form
Predictive Cash Forecasting Improve cash forecasting ability and help the business make more informed cash decisions Planning Predictive Separate Cash Forecasting planning application type must be deployed
Monte Carlo Simulations Increase model accuracy using Monte Carlo simulations Planning Predictive Enable Strategic Modelling, within Application Overview area and run simulations
