New 2018 UK Growth Optimism – Are You Prepared?

“I certainly wouldn’t have thought the UK economy would be as robust as it currently seems,”
– Lord O’Neill, 22 January 2018
Last week I wrote about gloomy predictions for the UK hotel sector in 2018. What a difference a week can make! But, of course, this is not comparing apples with apples. An overall robust economy does not mean every sector will benefit, well that is my take on it!
For many organisations this latest news may come as a shock and put their current plans into disarray. Many have already taken the decision to cut back investment in both assets and workforce in 2018, and beyond. So, this could be a time for a rethink and a bit of re-planning on investment. But, where should they invest?
One area that organisations often neglect when they consider this question is just how robust their existing business systems are to deal with growth. They may work fine right now, but at what cost in terms of additional admin staff, and what happens if business levels increase, how will the organisation cope? Investment here could be vital if every advantage is going to be taken of a ‘robust UK economy’ and growing global markets. An example of just what the right investment can do is made clear by outdoor products distributor 2Pure:
“NetSuite saves us time and allows us to focus on running the business, and that has helped us increase our turnover—our revenues—by 95%.”

I expect you are now saying, but business systems cost ‘an arm and a leg’ and take forever to implement – I will never see any benefit in 2018. There must be investments that will deliver more immediate returns? In the old world of on-premises solutions you would most likely be correct as implementations could take years and cost millions of Pounds. But, this is not the case anymore.
Modern Cloud based solutions for business are designed to be simpler and quicker to implement. They can be implemented and delivering benefits in weeks. So leaving plenty of time to take advantage the UK’s robust economy and global growth during 2018. They are also an investment that keeps on giving. As companies grow they can easily grow with them – adding users and more functionality is easy without the need for new IT equipment or expensive additional on-premises software licences.
Brovanture have been implementing cloud-based solutions for over 3 years and we have seen the dramatic impact they have made for our customers. They are doing things they could not have imagined before, at a cost that they can afford. But more than that, their aspirations are no longer stifled by the systems they use. This means they have the opportunity to grow and to take advantages of a more robust UK economy in 2018.
